Paul was born in Bedford and started playing the trumpet at the age of 13. He attended the Junior Department of Trinity College of Music where he won the Junior Department Prize for Performance. Paul studied music at Goldsmiths College, University of London where he learned the trumpet with Andrew Hendrie and took part in a masterclass given by Crispian Steele-Perkins. Whilst at Goldsmiths, Paul also played various ensembles including British Youth Opera and the Britten-Pears Orchestra. Paul freelances for many groups in London and the South-East and has recorded with the Locke Brass Consort and has appeared on television with The Trumpeters of London. He is currently reaching the end of a 12 year project to perform all of Bach’s cantatas . Paul has taught brass players from age 7 to over 70 and is currently on the staff of Newham Academy of Music. He is also the Musical Director of Croydon Brass Band. |
